Wilson’s Barbershop & Shave Parlor

For California natives John and Stancie Wilson, creating the barbershop of their dreams has been a labor of love. Renovating a century-old main street storefront in Valparaiso Indiana, they’ve helped the local rural-based community return to their roots, finding value and connection in an old-school barbershop.

Prior photography had been informal, done either by the owners or local barbershop regulars. For this shoot, we needed not only to capture the vibe of this beautiful location but also find a creative direction and aesthetic that aligned with the retro inspirations of this creative couple.
